I will...
A DIFFERENT COMMUNITY VISION: Our friends in the Columbia Climate Change Coalition invite all to participate in “A People’s Visioning” to Create Good Jobs and a Better Community through “A Different Community Vision.” All are encouraged to join in a Mini-Conference to be held the evening of Monday, August 27, at 7 p.m. in the Friends Room of the Columbia Public Library, Garth & Broadway. Music and Refreshments available at 6:30 p.m.
They are looking for solutions to jobs, without blight, & welcome your ideas. The aim is to bring jobs, as well as petition city leaders and our educational community to collaborate for job-specific training and mentoring in fields our community needs: renewable energy, energy-efficiency and conservation, neighborhood improvement, growing local food, addressing sustainable clean water issues, incubating small business startups through high schools, community colleges and the university, improving and maintaining historic buildings, maintaining public infrastructure, remedying blight, find funding, etc. For more info contact M. Welch 573-777-2216 or 573-443-4717
